Craig Steinke, Executive Chairman, is founder and President of Reconnaissance Energy Corporation (1994), a private Canadian unconventional oil and gas development company. He has over 20 years of extensive experience in the global oil and gas industry, specializing in acquisitions, property development and corporate finance. During his career, Mr. Steinke has been instrumental in acquiring in excess of 25 million acres of domestic and international petroleum and natural gas rights, as well as developing and financing these assets. He has been successful in founding and developing several unconventional resource companies, with specific focus on shale gas and tight gas sands.
Mr. Steinke has been instrumental in acquiring and developing assets in some of North America’s major unconventional plays, such as coalbed methane in the Powder River Basin, shale gas plays in the Fayetteville, Marcellus and Montney. Mr. Steinke is certified with the CWC School of Energy (London, England) in World Fiscal Systems for Oil and Gas. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators; an organization designed to enhance the professionalism of cross-border energy negotiators worldwide.
